Yoshiko's Hamburger Steak

My mother Yoshiko used to make this one for us and we loved it. I thought this was a dish from other country, but I have never seen one like this. Japanese must have invented this to mimic real stake long time ago. This is such a popular food in Japan, and a great memory for me.

200g ground beef

100g ground pork

1/2 onion

1 egg

Black pepper to taste

1 tsp olive oil

150ml cup red wine

2 tbsp tomato ketchup

1 tbs worcestershire sauce

1 tsp honey

2. In a bowl, place the ground beef, ground pork, onion, bread crumbs and egg. Add the salt, nutmeg, pepper, and knead well by hand.
